Unhappy Don Rickles. R.I.P.

Don Rickles Dead: Legendary Comic Was 90 | Hollywood Reporter

He played in Reno and Lake Tahoe casinos rather often and those who knew him said he was actually a very nice man.

Don Rickles funny guy who could also play a serious role.

The genius of Rickles is that he showed no one should take themselves too seriously. A Don Rickles could not rise to fame in today's politically correct world .

Personal Best Regards:

When he got beat on the head with the phone in Casino I was very bothered by that. Even though it is just a movie couldn't they have found another way to handle that scene? What a great comedian. Without vulgarity. I forgot it was possible to be funny without cursing. R.I.P. Mr. Rickles.

He has been playing in Reno, Nevada of late according to my various friends on a lived in Reno, Nevada in the 1960s and 1970s Facebook Group. Been visiting a bit with some of my Earl Wooster High School classmates from the Classes of 1976 and 1977.

Don Rickles was in Reno quite a bit. More in Las Vegas though. I would have loved to seen his show but much of the time I lived there I was 6' 1" and 135 lbs. That was before I started weight-lifting, running and the like around 1981. I can just hear the don't let a big wind near him joke from Rickles.

Saw him in Vegas. You wouldn't want a front row seat if you were a thin skinned hockey puck.

Some of us can take jokes if they are in from good spirits like with Don Rickles. Most of the women I have been out with poke me for various stuff but these are good natured pokes.

The last of the great borscht belt comics. Jewish comics have always been on the cutting edge of comedy since the 40's.
