Now that the democrats have failed to back this compromise plan, they own Obamacare and will take the blame for the pain that is forthcoming. Of course. they will try to blame the republicans for not increasing funding or lowering taxes or whatever such convoluted nonsense that they can come up with.

What we know is that the ACA premium costs are increasing rapidly. Deductibles are rising and insurance companies are leaving the exchanges. Premiums have increased on an average of 26% with Arizona premiums increasing at a whopping 116%. So far, five states have only one insurance company to "choose" from if you get your insurance through the exchanges.

There are going to be a lot of people that cannot afford coverage and cannot get the services that they need. As distasteful as this plan was to many, it would have prevented that.

Also, this was only phase one of repeal and replace. Two more phases were to come that would have made health insurance much more affordable with much better coverage.

If you don't think that this was a compromise, think about this. About half of the most conservative coalition of the republican congress was against it and all of the democrats were against it. Of course the same democrats that had to be dragged kicking and screaming to vote for Obamacare marched lockstep with Pelosi and the party's leadership. So who knows how many would have actually voted for it if not for simple partisanship. This was payback by Pelosi pure and simple.

Also some of the more moderate republicans were against it.

So here you have some of the most liberal members of congress voting against it, some of the most conservative members of congress voting against it and some moderates voting against it. if that doesn't spell compromise, I don't know what does.

Of course I'd never expect Sheila Jackson Lee, Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi or Herb Ellison to vote for it. Nor would I expect Michele Bachman, Tom Price or Tim Scott to vote for it. Those are some of the extremist in both parties. They will never compromise.

But I would have thought that some of the more conservative democrats might have crossed over. That is why the bill failed. It's because people on both sides refused to compromise. About 25 republicans refuse to compromise and 193 democrats refused to compromise.

Those on the right because they are vehemently against government control. Those on the left refused because of loyalty to party. They know that in upcoming elections the party will pull their funding. They are under the complete control of Pelosi and Hoyer.

This shows that republicans cannot be controlled by their party's leadership the way that democrats can. Democrats will never go against their leadership the way that republicans will.

Democrats march lockstep. Republicans vote their conscience.

I wouldn't want to be a democratic member of congress when the crap hits the fan.

He said he would repeal and replace the ACA first thing.

He said he would develop a plan to defeat ISIS in 30 days

He said Mexico will pay for the wall - guess what, sucker?

Apparently, this bill failed for several reasons, the number one reason was that it was actually READ first. Another reason was apparently the stuff some tried to sneak into it that had absolutely nothing to do with healthcare. Until a stop is put to this practice of legislators doing it, all bills (including healthcare) should be rejected. There must have been other problems not mentioned, as well.

By the way, ask my neighbor how the plan still in place is working out for her. Not only does she have to pay the premiums, but her deductible is $7,000. As she says, "At that rate, might as well not have insurance." At least her husband can get his care through the VA, since he is a combat wounded veteran.

Why do you attack me personally ? Are my beliefs that much of a threat to you ? Does calling me a loser make your political thought that much more logical ? I think not, any intelligent individual does not agree with you.

SO, tell us someone that hasn't lied. Especially in D.C.
Trump has said some wild things, and maybe even lied a few times. MAYBE. TO lie you must mean to pass false statements to deceive. If he was wrong or mistaken, that is not a lie. But, who cares? Right now, I consider his first few months as a learning experience. SO far, he has done an exceptional job in such a short time.
If you wish to continue to grieve your loss, or rather your loss via Hillary's massacre in the elections, so be it. That makes you just another loser. Learn from Trump. Trump wins some and loses some. He just lost what he tried to do for America for health care. He tried so I give him credit for attempting to fulfill his promise. He is a winner because he is moving on. He won't really lose by this, but other Americans will. Obamacare will fail and he will continue to pay his physician he has on retainer. He didn't have to work for us. He did it because he wanted to. He's a winner. He will win more than he will lose. That makes him a winner and Hillary a loser. The only thing she has won in life is a rigged primary election.
So, if you wish to cry about what Trump says, then be a loser. What you say will not make him any less wealthy or make him any less a president.
Pay attention to what Trump is doing, rather than what he is saying. Obama is a very good speaker as long as he is reading a script. He was the world's worst leader and a very poor president. Being on TV a lot does not make him a good president. Trump has been president for two months. He's done more than Obie did in two years. I'm not that concerned about his talk.

Wow, I knew you were a lost cause when it comes to ethics, integrity and honesty...but I really had no clue you were this far gone.

So, Republicans vote their conscience: that is why they refused to hold hearings on the Supreme Court nominee by Obama....that is why they voted over 27 times to repeal ACA without any alternative, and when, after 7 years, they came up with an alternative, they couldn't get their own party to back it.....go back to drinking your Kool-Aid and take your meds
