Just done mine about month ago. As stated not that hard. If you do it be care cutting the old grips off! Very easy slip and cut you. I didn't have vise, I just sliced them and skin them like skinning squirrel holding the club with my feet. Mine was real old and was in storage over the summer which dry rotted them. Came off pretty easy. Grip kit make installation very easy (precut tape and slick'em to slip the new grips on.

I got one of them hugh putter grips and really like it. Shops will charge labor rate doing the grips, I'd guessing 3 buck piece good deal if you can find place that cheap. I would expect to pay more at pro-shop. IMO if you can't put them on yourself probably not going to save much due to the labor rate, but I never had them installed I always done it myself?
