Since Taylor Hicks won in 2006, I do have kind of a hate/love relationship to this show.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taylor_Hicks Thought many of the other top 12 of that season were so much better than he was. The same goes with last season when I thought there were better singers than the actual winner.
I agree with your statement about Melinda, I had hoped that she would be that season's (2007) winner.
