when the top looks a little dingy because of spills and debre.....i use a razor blade, on its side, simply move it round the edges of the burner, pressing slightly on the side of the razor and this scrapes up the debre.

then simply rinse again with water or windex for shine.....or the cream that came with the stove and back to perfection...

I have never had a problem with the razor, no scratches on me or the stove top.
