Yesterday, sixteen of us finished Golf at HH at precisely 4:00PM. Being in the lead group, I approached the Hostess in the "Country Club" Restaurant and advised that sixteen of us would like to be seated for drinks.

At this point I must digress to tell you that at least 3/4 of the tables throughout the joint were empty, not set for diners, just empty.

Back to my story. The hostess said we could sit at the bar where there were two or three empty seats or go outside. I said, it's cold outside and accordingly we wanted to have our drinks inside. Her quote, "The Dining Area is reserved for diners." I politely suggested to her that since the dining room was 3/4 empty and it was only 4:00PM it made no sense to turn away a drink tab for 16 people. I also advised her that we would be gone in less than 30 minutes. All to no avail as she insisted that "that's the rules" and refused to seat and serve us. OK, out to the porch we went, settled up our small wagers and left without a single drink being purchased.

To conclude, I'll bet you've figured this out, the joint was over half empty when we left. So let's summarize, HH lost out on a bar bill for 16 thirsty golfers and in the process ****ed off 16 potential customers.

I can't wait to hear how some of you will justify this outrageous treatment of golfers at a place that has the nerve to call themselves a Country Club. And NO, we didn't ask to speak to the Manager as that's probably the jerk that made the rules in the first place.
Sounds like the waitress made a good call. If the place was 3/4 empty when you made the request and half empty when you left, that means it was filling up pretty fast.
