Is this the fellow who was written-up in The Sun a few years who repaired Singer's for many years?
If so, I seem to recall that one of our service clubs provided old (but working) Singer's to a girl's training school in Haiti to help train them to make-a-living. I don't recall the details of the story, but recall that I was very impressed with the fellow's ability in lending his skills to a worthy project.
Does anyone else remember that story?
Best,
Casey
