Villages visitors staying in the Village of Belvedere were arrested early Wednesday morning after they were discovered passed out in a golf cart at a green light at Avenida Central and Paige Place.

Steven P. Barth, 22, of Sunnyside, N.Y., and Timothy R. Barth, 25, of Severna Park, M.D., were discovered at 3:20 a.m. in the golf cart with the plastic side curtains down, slumped over and asleep by a Lady Lake Police Officer. Steven Barth told the officer they had come from Applebee�s and were staying in the Village of Belvedere, according to the arrest report. Two glasses believed to be containing alcohol were in the cupholders of the golf cart, the report indicated.

Steven Barth, who had been behind the wheel, failed field sobriety exercises and was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Timothy Barth was found to have a small bag of marijuana in his pocket during a police patdown, the report said. He was arrested on a charge of marijuana possession.



Steven Barth was booked at the Lake County Jail where he later posted $2,000 bond and was released.

Both are due for arraignment next month in Lake County Court.
