Lifting your door off the tracks can be simply stopped by drilling a correct size hole in the top of the track and running in a large sheet metal screw. Back the screw out enough to just let the door slide. I use several screws along the track. I've done this for years, the door slides as it should but can't be lifted out. If ever needed to replace the door, then just back out the screws and remove them.

I used strips of aluminum attached with Velcro. The PDF was previously uploaded to this thread, however, I like your idea also. Let's keep sharing the knowledge, and keep the bad guys OUT.
