Default Probably a Silly Question, Nevertheless...

I'll ask it anyway...

When you want to play golf on relatively short notice, is it considered an acceptable practice for a single to just look up a tee time and sign up for one that has 1, 2 or 3 players already signed up for that tee time? I'm just getting into golf in TV. Yes...I've taken the Good Golf School...highly recommended. But I just wanted to hear it from the golfers themselves.

Is this considered an intrusion of a sort? Or is it considered an acceptable, possibly even an expected, practice? And does the answer apply equally to both executive and championship courses?

Oh, and one other thing...does it matter if you walk or ride?

Thanks.
