Mrs Bavarian and I just returned from 49 day cruise to Brazil for Rio Carneval and cruised the Amazon. On MS Amsterdam. Was very nice except for rain. Our Carneval trip, first day, we were in heavy rain, it srooped around 1AM. We left at 4AM and missed last two Samba schools. Had three days in Rio, the second night was dry for the people going then.

Amazon very wide, but shallow at times, 3meters water below keel, but Capt, got us through.

Long cruises are the best, get to know the Sewards, bar staff and the cruise staff, a floating family.

Lots of interesting towns in Brazil, also went to Devil's Island.

Goes again next January.
