You may want to see more than one neurosurgeon as they vary greatly on the way to proceed. One doctor told my husband he needed a cage, a rod and a fusion and 8 screws. The next doctor said he didnt need anything. Turned out the second doctor is right. He decided to wait. A year later he is fine without doing anything. I highly recommend non-invasive surgery if possible. I have had 3 back surgeries. The last one was non-invasive and the recovery time was much quicker.
