You've wanted to be in TV for 5 years. Why do your relatives say it's a mistake to want what you want?
It's your life, not theirs.
Maybe you could hold off on selling the house, and then either rent in TV for a few months in the fall, or buy a reasonably priced villa that's easy to re-sell if TV is not for you after living here for awhile.
