The cooked meat CONTAINS no more energy than the uncooked meat (other than the added heat energy), but cooking it makes it much easier for us to digest it so it PROVIDES us with more energy:
a) we are able to extract more benefit from it; and
b) we use less energy in extracting that benefit.
