Another vote for Allan's sod.
They replaced our front lawn a few years back. What impressed me was the process.
They came out and sprayed and killed the remaining grass. Sprayed a couple of times then wait for 2-4 weeks.
This assures removing all of what may have wrecked the grass in the first place.
Then they come out and clean out all the dead stuff, treat, rake and roll the renewed soil.
Then lay down new sod.
Water and pray.
Too many are ready to rake and throw down new sod.
