Also, keep in mind if you are looking for appraisals for insurance purposes, you will pay for these, in some cases several percent of the appraised value, or a fixed minimum cost. If you are 'just curious', try a search on eBay or Google for the item you are interested, this will give you a range of values. I would NOT use Craigslist, as the values are always quite low, especially the wanted area, and the for sale seem to be overly optimistic.
