Think I'd spend the money to call someone reputable like Chuck Farrell to look it over and see what he recommends. He does a lot of warranty work. Then, call Home Warranty and tell them the findings of both companies if in fact TV will cover more that what your present covers. So far as I know, there is no requirement as to whom you use to have something repaired that is covered strictly by the manufacturer warranty unless the warranty itself requires an authorized rep.
