His personal life is just that -- his personal life. Most of us had a chance to have a misspent youth. We learned while we were growing up. He didn't have that chance. He was an athlete before he was a kid. He had a father who controlled every moment of his life. These are not conducive to making a well-rounded individual. He was raised on military bases. Considering the language heard on a base on a daily basis, I'm surprised he doesn't curse more than he does.
I'm sorry to see the gloating when he doesn't do well, especially by the fans. He deserves better. He brought a lot to the game and still does. Why he keeps pushing himself so hard is beyond me. He has nothing to prove and certainly doesn't need the money. So, I guess it is because he does love the game, feels he still has something to prove to himself and maybe owes something to his legion of fans.
So, congrats to Mr. Spieth for winning. Hope he can do it a few more times. Kudos to Tiger for coming in the money and here's hoping his body lets him win a few more tournaments.

Well said, especially the part about personal life. We read about sports figures in the media and think we know them. We don't have a clue what REALLY goes on in their personal lives, nor should we. To make judgements about what we read or hear in the media can be very misleading. As you said, Tiger has really raised the awareness of golf, which is a good thing. I too wish him well.
