Yeah...I didn't wanna repeat myself, but I had river rock for the whole 23 years I was in my last home in SW FL. Direct sun all afternoon. I guess I was lucky that I never had a problem, my neighbors eventually replaced theirs and had problems with the new river rock. Like I said, I pressure washed, laid a THIN coat of sealer every year, and never a problem. You can't apply it too thick or it's not porous anymore. When I was preparing the house for sale and we had the pool surface redone I chose to recoat the lanai with deco-crete because they realtor said the river rock was "dated". I thought it was gorgeous and it broke my heart to cover it.
