In PA we have to get a kennel license to foster. We only foster one at a time, but its a requirement of our municipality or state. The license is issued by the state. The rescue is responsible for checking the home, conditions, and suitability of the foster parents.
Three of our fosters have been adopted by someone in our development. As we walk around the neighborhood, people are attracted to dogs. We all get exercise and the pups get adopted. It's a win/win.
On the other side, we now have 2 chocolate labs that were fosters. It's sometimes hard to give them up. But, we travel with our dogs and two is enough.
