I would encourage you (and everyone else) to attend the good golf school. It is hosted by the Golf Administration . They will tell you useful things like:
What the stakes mean; where is the proper place to park by the green (to reduce wear and tear on greens); why you should fix your pitch marks; what is ready golf; golf courtesy etc. This two hour course will make your and the rest of the community's day more pleasant.

Your new golf partners will appreciate it and it will make your transition easier!
