A couple of times at Pinellas W-D, I have found myself stuck in a really slow checkout line with no alternative.....
But I always use slow grocery lines as time to read the
The National Enquirer. One evening at Pinellas, the line was so slow that I had time to get those behind me interested in reading the tabloids along with me.
We got all caught up on Queen Elizabeth and her crew. And who had gained a bunch of weight and/or had botched plastic surgery. And who was zoomin' who. --
I think that should be whom -- objective case pronoun, direct object of the verb. -- Oh well, anyway, my line had a good time. In fact, a nice woman behind me said she hoped the next time she got stuck in a line, it would be with me. I treasure that remark.
