This is a fair question. It goes directly to the point of it is the worst thing in the world to kill another human, but these terrorist are not humans they are rabid animals, and there is only one way to deal with them, put them out of there misery.
Killing the terrorist makes him a martyr, but giving him life in prison would make him a living hero to the rabid animals.
