When I did this up North, I was able to purchase a square/rectangular transition piece that allowed me to cutout the existing siding to fit the transition piece and then mount the new light in the transition piece. The result looked like a frame around the base of the lamp. Not sure is this will work for you depending on house colors and trim colors.
