Chatbrat answered your question. It is an easy DIY if you are comfortable with working with wiring/switches. Replace the single wall switch with a duplex (double switch), one connected to black wire, the other to the red wire. You then control the fan or the light independent of each other.

If you are not comfortable with DIY, it is a simple job for an electrician.
