Hmmmm. Where does that info come from? In looking at the Sumter County tax records, the parcel listed as 1031 N Buena Vista Blvd is shown as owned by the Villages of Lake-Sumter; and the use description is 'AG Improved W/HX' - not sure of those codes! Notes on the property card indicate "E1/2 OF SW1/4 AND SE1/4 OF NW1/4 LESS THAT PORTION DEEDED IN OR 868 PG 357 (PARCEL 18 & 19)5 LESS THAT PORTION KNOWN AS D.W MATHEWS POLO FIELD PARCEL NO. D10=016 LESS E 410 FT OF S 200 FT OFS1/2 OF SE1/4 OF SW1/4 THEREOF"
And the parcel listed as 700 N Buena Vista Blvd [contingent to 1031] is shown as owned by the Villages of Lake-Sumter; and the use is described as 'Drive In Theatres, Open (03100)'. And this parcel shows as the one referenced above as Parcel No. D10=016.
Both properties have mailing address as 1020 Lake Sumter Landing, The Villages, FL 32162. If I read the cards correctly, both properties were sold/transferred fr Donald W Mathews, Individually and as Trustee to the Villages of Lake-Sumter way back on 1/31/2001. And the map on each site sure looks like the polo field property. And the properties behind what appears to be the polo field property is shown as owned by a private party.
What with the one property description listed as 'drive in, etc' - isn't that why/where the Villages used to hold an annual golf cart drive in movie night?
