I've heard from at least one other person who may be interested in starting a miscellaneous board games club. I will admit I'm a little hesitant...after all, there are so many clubs already here, and I'm not experienced in starting a club, so I'm going to do a more detailed search to see if any existing clubs might fit the bill.
Card clubs are rather abundant, and that comes close to what I'm looking for. So I might give one of those a try. Canasta, Sheepshead, Wizard Cards, several others come to mind that I know would be fun.
But the pull of board games is still there. So if anybody else is interested in a group...or knows of any board-game specific clubs that I might be missing...post here or shoot me a pm.
