In my landscaping I have several boxwoods that I like. The problem is that grass/ weeds has grown up through the boxwoods and grows taller so that it shows above the top of the manicured shrubs. The problem is how do I kill the weeds/ grass without killing the boxwoods. I thought about trying to apply Roundup to the top of the weeds when it grows through, but I'm really afraid that I will get the herbicide on the boxwood and thus kill it too. Any suggestions? If I don't get a better suggestion then I'm going to try my Roundup idea and see what happens.

What I do is trim out the lower branches so I can reach in and pull out that pesky grass. Firmly and gently so as to get the looooong root. Use gloves.
