It is not against nature for an alligator (or turtle) to grab a duck. It is only against mankind's sense & sensibilities - those very senses & sensibilities that are fed by eating, among other things, duck (sometimes under the non de plume of Peking). Alligators have been eating ducks (and fish and turtles and birds) for thousands of years but it is only when they are seen doing so they are then deemed worthy of being 'dispatched' so the trapper can sell the hide and ....... gasp ........ meat for humankind to eat.
