Regardless of what your personal feeling are on this topic, we should all be disappointed in the fact that the Supreme Court has essentially added another paragraph to the Constitution. This is not their job. As a result, state's rights have yet again been eroded -this is the sort of thing the framers of the constitution wished to avoid. From a purely pragmatic point of view, the Supreme Court has essentially removed some freedoms. By this I mean, if you are not in favor of gay marriages, for whatever reason, you previously could have move to a state whose citizens have voted not to allow gay marriages. That freedom has now been removed - you would now need to leave the country. The issue is not gay marriages, I really don't care one way or another. The issue is the Supreme Court doing a Federal power grab from the states. For those who say "the end justifies the means", you should ask yourself "What's next?"
