The members brought enough, it's just the folks at the head of the line loaded up their plates with out thinking.
Gracie we have over 200-250 at most events, when you do a large buffet pot luck it takes 45-60 minutes to get the food out.
Now it's 7:00, doing it at the table we're ready for entertainment to begin at 6:20.
