I just noticed that the Political Talk forum has been re-activated, presumably to provide an outlet for comment during the 2016 election cycle. I only hope that the forum takes on a personality that will be less volatile and acidic as it was before it was de-activated in 2012.

Hopefully, posters here will make an attempt to explain their political preferences and choice of candidates, attempting to provide information that will be useable by readers of all political persuasions. Preferably information posted will be based in fact, with Snhort personal opinions or attacks on parties or candidates, often riddled with profanity, have no place here, because they are not political discussion. Such postings might express the feelings and beliefs of the poster, but do not further discussion of political issues and/or the character, statements and record of individual candidates. Hopefully, when statements are made and information presented, references and the sources of information will also be provided.

Most important...very much most important...individual posters in this forum should nit attack and disparage the statements and beliefs of other posters here. Presenting facts and information sources that provide evidence contrary to a posting is fine, and adds to the body of information we all need to exercise our political rights.

Hopefully, the moderators will act quickly to eliminate listings that do not further political discussion. The are quite a few such postings already here that add nothing to encourage discussion of political issues. You can start now Moderators. Let's keep this forum informational.
