Its hard to believe a community of 100,000 people doesn't have a covered pool, and one with chillers. If you are swimming laps, you can wear long sleeved shirts, but they are restricting, and I find them warm to wear in the summer, especially when the water is like bathwater. We have many times during the period from May through September/October when the water is 90+ degrees. And the water is so reflective, you still get sun damage on other parts of the body like your legs and face, that are not being covered. Many of us lap swim at 7:00 when the pools first open. The downside is, there are a lot of people that do that,, so you split a lane, and if you get there right after 7:00 you might have to sit and wait for awhile before you can get a spot. In the winter its easier to get a spot at 7:00 but the outside temperature might be in the 30's! Given the size of our community, and the number of serious swimmers there are, there is no question, that there should be at least one covered pool in the Villages, and at least one pool with chillers for the summer months.
