IMO: This whole email server issue can be solved if The Clinton Foundation deletes all their correspondence from this particular server and transfers their records to a new server. Then the government, or whoever, can have all of the remaining information. The same government has no reason to see any of the Clinton Foundation Records without probable cause.
Bill Clinton is a very, very smart individual and probably thought of this solution himself, without my help. After all, he is going to be credited with singlehandedly bringing down the republican party by encouraging Donald Trump to run for president, if current published reports are true.

You don't have an understanding of the rules and laws regarding gov property. Let me see if I can make it a bit simpler. If a police officer pulls out his notes while on the stand, his WHOLE notebook can be scrutinized by the court. That's the law of evidence.
The server not only had possible security violations regarding classified material, but it had gov correspondence on it. The whole server can be seized as evidence. Tampering with evidence is breaking the law and can be construed as obstruction of justice or hampering of an official investigation.
