Are there any teachers or subs on the thread? Do you remember cafeteria duty? Telling kids to return their tray or lower their voice.

When I went to Catholic Prep HS, the Brother on duty would just walk over and smack you on the back of the head or choke you from the back of the neck if you acted up. Even if that was acceptable where I taught I couldn't do that.

I had caf duty for a year and about the 4th day I made 3 signs. The first one said "Please return your tray". The second one said "I'm not kidding." and I would just stand there until they got up. The third one said "Thank-you". I never had a problem after that and if the kids seen me walking towards the table, carrying my signs, they would all get up and return the trays rather than be hassled or escorted to the main office.

When I go to the Sharon, if I remember, I will be carrying a couple of hand-outs asking someone to please keep quiet because I can't move my seat and I want to hear the entertainer although in my heart I might want to hit them on the back of the head or choke them from behind like the good old days.
