Majority of folks at NYC Broadway shows come from out of town. Many performers will simply stop performing if there's something going in the audience. Sorry, goodtimesintv, but your comment is a bit insulting to those of us from NYC. When we go to the theater, we pay good money for shows, and I don't know too many people who would put up with that nonsense

As for the comment posted about being upset with people standing during a Carrie Underwood concert, please take note that this happens at every pop music concert. My,husband and I went to Ft. Lauderdale for The Rascals concert (all people our age or older) and everyone stood up! My husband is slightly handicapped and he couldn't see a thing onstage, and we had expensive aisle seats for this. Rudeness knows no age limit!
