Like it or not fortune 500 corporations are beholding to their share holders first and foremost......not to saving thousands of jobs.
If that could be accomplished in the action that would be fine.
Most company actions to improve profitability and share holder value involves reducing expenses and like it or not the largest target for bottom line improvement is to get expenses/employment back in line with generating a profit.
