As a former cosmetologist I hear many women complain about color fading, the #1 thing you can do to prevent fading is cover your head in the sun and if you swim wear a cap and wet your hair with tap water then put your cap on. Also use a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. Deep condition for at least 10 minutes- I do it once a week.
I go to Salon Jaylee on 466 and really like the products they use, they don't use Goldwell, if you ask for a color specialist they can refer you to the right person. The person who does my color (which is low lights, leaving the gray as my highlights) is booked out for months, but I have watched all the operators and they are all good. They are up on new techniques, products, go through continuing education supported my the management. Being in the industry I am very watchful and particular with whom I go to and what they use, Salon Jaylee can be expensive, but I believe you get what you pay for and I get compliments on my hair from strangers almost daily. And no, I have no affiliation with the salon, just my opinion as I have been to many salons around TV and found them to be the best for my style and color.
