So by Republican policies you mean personal responsibility, states rights, and smaller fed government? These are the opposite of what democrats stand for. "Fair" is a totally bogus concept generally used by people who aren't interested in facts but want to appeal to a baseless emotional argument. The foundation of the democratic party. Much of the problems with student loans is due to gov meddling that propelled tuition increases far above the rate of inflation. Another example of the fed government being complicit in another bubble.

I think these student loans are at fixed rates over the current available loan rates. Just change the interest rate. Everything was much more affordable in our days. Using us as examples, is nota fair comparison. But why be fair? That would be so un-Republican like.
