Is that what the "news" really said? Or did you read it backwards? I read the "news" to say that she and her friends originally vowed to go back to the square, but then she was banned ... Big difference.

Not true Gracie. Not true at all. The only reason to "swing" is to connect with someone's face. Women have as much right to defend themselves (in public, or in private) as men do. And if that defense includes a punch to the jaw, so be it. It has nothing to do with being a "nice girl".
According to all of the witnesses, the so called "victim" intentionally started the fight. She was looking for trouble, and she found it. If she did what the witnesses said she did, then she deserved what she got. Everyone has the right to defend themselves against bullies.
