I've seen the movies you listed (except for the new True Grit) several times each... and like them all. I'm not really sure why I prefer "The Searchers" except that it just draws you in and gets you involved. High Noon had that same sort of thing. BC&SK and the Unforgiven, while both great movies, just felt like interesting, enjoyable movies... but just movies. I prefer the Glenn Ford 3:10 version; maybe because he played against type he seemed more evil.
One or two scenes of The Searchers were clearly filmed on stage... and that was a bit distracting.
