Default Joggers again

I generally go to the Walmart on 466 in the early morning, around 5-5am. It's fully dark. I drive on Woodridge from CR 101 to the Walmart parking lot. There are streetlights only on one side of the road. Not infrequently, because it's nice even pavement, there are walkers/joggers who are proceeding facing traffic.

Okay fine, except that the lights are on the other side of the street. Despite whatever tiny blinky lights you may be wearing, I cannot see you people until I am pretty danged close. The speed limit n Woodridge is 25 but there's no one else on the road and I may be pushing 30.

The joggers startle me when they suddenly loom up in my lane and I probably scare them. I wish they would run on the other side of the road. Am I being unrealistic? Is it always safer to run facing traffic even if it's darker that way?

Not a jogger myself, so convince me.
