We just had our birdcage built also, inspection due to day. But what we did was to install 50% sunlight reduction screening, makes a huge difference. Similar to when a cloud goes over.
The overall contractor was Kilcrease 352-748-3600, and the subcontractor (these guys were excellent) Joseph Sweeting LLC 352-209-7676.
We had considered a canvas, or solid roof, but decided that the sunlight reducing screening was a better choice, and we are very happy with this choice.
