Mom and I store our potatoes, onions and garlic in a small, thicker packing box that we keep in a cooler, dry, dark area. They last for a long long time.

On a funny note-- My cousin's grandkids came to visit while she was digging up potatoes in her garden. The teenagers refused to eat the potatoes because they came out of the ground! What can I say, the teenagers lived in Detroit and didn't have a clue where the potatoes came from!
