I had several 50s, 60s and early 70s cars. Flat head ford with glasspacks (or steelpacks before 1965) was about the sweetest sound I heard, my stock 69 GTX with 440/375 idle was sweet with factory mufflers, nice loop with high lift cam and factory idle speed.

use to do with new glass packs pour diesel in them no burn them out, but they still had baffling.
I have to agree nothing before or since has ever sounded better the early 50's
Ford or Merc flatheads with glass packs or steelies
