I was devastated with the first few deletes, and badly hurt by the hatred but I think I am getting more tough skinned like the real journalist in my family.

I know that posting here is an obsession, but I so enjoy the back and forth. So many times a person can't hear what folks are saying when we are out in restaurants with music playing. And like most, I am braver here, simi concealed behind this computer, although I do know and am blessed with the friendship of many people who post.

I keep trying to quit, and someday I will. I enjoy this forum very much.
Do not let the Yahoos here and elsewhere get you down graciegirl. I was treated terribly at first on Findlaw's message boards starting in 2001 or so by a relentless, very clever, and very dishonest cybersmearer/cyberstalker/cyberbully. This went on until 2006 or so but must have given the Findlaw Moderators quite a headache as both this man and I would change Avatars (screen names) constantly with him pretending to be me. I also believe he was a contributing factor to the suicide of a army sergeant's-- or something like that-- very beautiful but very mentally ill girlfriend back around 2004. She drove her car into oncoming traffic near a military base near the TN/KY border. The soldier was trying to get her mental health help and I tried to get them information but my cybersmearer/cyberstalker kept saying I was a paranoid schizophrenic whom no one should believe. My trying to silence this cyberstalker/cyberbully drove the soldier off the board in frustration especially when he also pretended to be me. I mean that the cyberbully would use my name as well. I had no idea who this man was either and was getting a little paranoid trying to figure out who had all this hatred for me. It turned out he was some guy I was e-mailing trying to help him with his white collar criminal defense in Chesterfield County, Virginia. He pretended to be a friend with one persona on Findlaw, while making my life miserable through his hundreds of aliases on Findlaw's message boards.

The moderators here do a great job IMHO. Topix.com is still the wild wild west but it seems no one takes that seriously. People took Findlaw very seriously.

As to my tormentor on Findlaw of about 5 years I have not seen him posting anywhere on the Internet since 2008 or so. I had contacted the Chesterfield County Sheriff, VA about him as well as the Pinellas County Sheriff, FL and the FBI as well. They could not do anything. I did start writing my Federal Representative in Congress as well as the FL Senators and I did seem to be making some progress.

Findlaw changed a great deal after that. I jumped ship off of Findlaw and came onto Talk of the Villages in July 2007. Mainly as some friendly place unlike Findlaw to push my 224 613 Project but try to be a lot more patient with it. I have a lot more interests than the 224 613 Project but it is a real passion of mine. I found Facebook which turned out to be the perfect way to get my 224 613 Project much more broadly known but you do need to post with your real name and a lot of very personal information on there. I could post all my supporting documentation of Facebook too which I had tried in 2001 on Facebook but these were soon deleted from there even though the Findlaw System Operator had initially told me that Findlaw was the perfect place for showing all those documents. A lot of people on Findlaw did not like what I was trying to do with empowering victims/survivors of crimes with access to practical information. You would have more people asking intelligent questions in the legal system.
