I don't live in TV (yet) so I can't speak about placard abusers. BUT it's unfair to suggest the OP is not deserving of handicap parking status. No, no one has said it explicitly but it is implied. My fiancé had a temporary (2 month) placard after foot surgery. Extreme pain below the ankle. A Nissan Sentra isn't a Ferrari or monster truck but if she had one of those she would not of had any problems getting in or out.
We don't know what happened to the placard but if it was actually stolen than yes, that thief is a true low life - whether he or she is a villager or not. I have no doubt the overwhelming majority of residents are wonderful people but it would be naive to think TV is made up of 110,000 saints.
