Default Recycling?

When I saw all the new clear plastic bags while on my daily walk it sorta triggered a thought.

When we first came here I asked about recycling. The answer was not at the house hold level...it is separated prisoners at the processing location. Seemed reasonable.

Then the so called "we gotta recycle" wave began to germinate. Eventually enough people got the powers that be attention and woe and behold one can now recycle at home.....but because it is voluntary at the home level, they still do the separating at the processing location......AND charge us all $1.47 per month to accommodate special pick up/handling of the clear bags.

Maybe I don't have all the facts, but if the above is substantially the case, then what we have here is the epitome of a "special interest" groups effect on the majority.
It is what is referred to as feel good administration. Wasn't necessary to accomplish the mission...recycle trash....BUT did increase the cost to us all......has now added even more non biodegradable plastic bags to the system.....is consuming more fuel for special pick ups.....more noise......more pollution.......but more folks feel good.

BS....mine goes in the same bags as before....the prisoners were doing a fine job that cost less and harmed the environment less....and used to cost less....

A classic approval of something that makes NO SENSE at all....but y'all who roared about havin' it must feel good now....eh? :edit: :dontknow:
