I don't think there is. I think villagers are more likely to problem drink at their old home, where they came from. Unless they came from a place with so much to do, so many friends your own age and so many nice days to go outside.
I think Tom is right. "Back home", I think drinking probably was more solitary, and done at home.
In TV, there are Happy Hours and two-for-one drinks in most of the Country Clubs, restaurants and at the Town Squares.
It's a very social atmosphere. Maybe not more drinking than "back home", but more obvious.
