Re: Eliot Spitzer's fall
I was elated when Elliot was originally elected and had high hopes for him, but the past year I've not been impressed with his demeanor or methods of getting things done. I think you need to be conciliatory to an extent to succeed in politics, and he didn't seem to have that word in his vocabulary. I'm glad to hear McCelheny that he personally helped out your family. ( BTW, I've heard personal stories like that about Hillary. ) In any event, upon hearing of Elliot's romps with the prostitue, I felt cheated - like I was sold a bill of goods. I personally don't care about how politicians conduct their sex lives, but when he campaigned on a platform of honesty and integrity, and he acted just the opposite, it was obviously a shock. For the good of the party, I'm glad he stepped down immediately and took his medicine. I feel bad for his daughters, who are at a difficult and impressionable age, as well as for his wife.
